Diagnostic

To quote Dr. Turnage, “You don’t know where you are going if you don’t know where you are”. This means that, unless your first visit is emergency-related, our initial job is finding out exactly “what’s up” with your oral health.

We offer a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, other oral tissues, including a thorough Oral Cancer screening. X-rays, intraoral photos and sometimes models of your teeth help us establish a “baseline” of information on which to build a personalized plan so we can can meet not only your dental needs, but other things that you may want, such as whitening or bonding or straightening your teeth, to name just a few.

Preventive

Our practice is super-preventive oriented. Getting your mouth healthy and keeping it that way are two different things, so one of the first services we offer after the examination is what Dr. Turnage calls “getting the foundation healthy”.

Dr. T likens it to building a house—no matter what size house you build, without a firm and healthy foundation, it probably won’t last. Our Hygienists are very picky when it comes to giving you a thorough cleaning! We will give you the time that your particular situation requires to “do it right the first time”, whether your cleaning requires only a few minutes or more that one appointment.

Oh yes, COMFORT...if you need it, we can keep you comfortable with Nitrous Oxide(=gas), novocaine, or just topically-applied numbing ... After all, we can be more thorough only if our patients are COMFORTABLE!

Periodontal (Gum) Therapy

Signs like bleeding gums, persistent bad
odor or taste of your mouth often are signs of gum disease. Oh yes, it is usually painless as well! Just like most diseases, the earlier you find about it and treat it, the better the overall outcome. We will thoroughly evaluate your individual situation, and when necessary, advise what treatment, when needed, is appropriate for you.
